Want to get my hands dirty and write something in Rakudo. Thinking about suggesting we schedule a hackathon at thousand oaks perl mongers tommorow. I think we could do something fun and useful in about two four hour sessions. Will start a brainstorming session if anyones interested.
I am doing a presentation on genetic programming tommorow. Was supposed to do this as my lightning talk at YAPC::NA 10 but got behind because of work. Writing C Apache2 modules required me to do a lot of extra hours due to the learning curve .. blah
Its time for another all nighter … the mission must be accomplished.
…if you have a Rakudo or Perl 6 hackathon and write about it (or do anything else to support Rakudo / Perl 6), your .pm group can get a release named after it.

Thanks for the encouragement and incentive Patrick. Last night we got a good response and there are enough of us interested to make it worthwhile.
My original idea of us hanging out at 4am and eating pizza while working on this didn’t come across as well as I thought. More people were interesting in collaborating via github which is awesome too.
Now i realize that most of our group is married, and well im just a 34 year old who wants to stay up for a Rakudo hackathon til 4 am on a school night.
Yes I know I should get a life but hey coding is a great life
